Through hands-on immersive instruction and experience, students will gain an in depth understanding of emergency protocols and treatment in an isolation expedition setting. Students will be certified through AAOS and ECSI and will also receive CPR/AED training as a part of the certification. This WAFA course meets or exceeds all requirements of OSHA and Wilderness Medical Society. This course is a combination of lectures and practical hands-on sessions along with rescue simulations. During the rescue simulations students will be identified either as a group of victims or a group of rescuers. Passing the course will be determined by how well each student responds to emergency situations in the wilderness.
